About Sara-mae

A trainee psychotherapist, trauma therapist, yoga therapist, creative therapist, family therapist, practitioner, trainer and mentor.

Sara-mae offers support to children, young people and adults who have experienced trauma and trauma related conditions, through individual and group therapeautic sessions.

The support provides understanding of trauma and how it may present within an individual and is based upon an understanding of trauma through lived experience and from the works of Bessel Van De Kolk, Gabor Mate, Deb Dana, Daniel Siegal, Dan Hughes, Kim Golding, The ACE’s and many other reputable trauma informed pioneers and resources.

The work delivered to individuals and groups can be in the form of talk therapy, creative therapy, psycho-education around trauma, mindfulness and yoga therapy techniques.

Everything offered is person focused, with practices that are tailored to the individual’s needs.

In addition, Sara-mae is a lead tutor for Trauma-Informed Training for Yoga Teachers and affiliated with Trauma Therapy Manchester and Susi Wrenshaw. The course offers a knowledge and practical approaches of how to deliver a three phase approach to trauma recovery. Both during and following the course, she also mentor students.

Sara-mae is currently training to be a psychotherapist at Level 4, BACP accredited.

Therapeutic Work

Sara-mae has and continues to work for a number of local authority schools and organisations around Staffordshire, Shropshire and Warwickshire areas.

Sara-mae's work has developed from training, experience (both personal and professional). She delivers trauma-informed well-being, creative therapy, yoga therapy and family therapy within a number of school settings as well as privately.

Sara-mae has worked within the looked after care sector supporting families, carers and young people.

Sara-mae has a vast amount of experience of working with vulnerable adults and young people through referral from rape and sexual abuse centres, domestic abuse charities and adoption support.

In addition Sara-mae works privately offering support to young people, teens and adults who may be struggling to manage symptoms of physical conditions, stress, anxiety and depression.

She has worked within a number of residential care homes for the elderly and supported carers wellbeing groups for dementia and alzheimers.

Training Courses and Mentoring

Sara-mae has designed, developed and delivered an array of accredited training and development courses for professionals, specialist groups, families and schools.

Sara-mae's understanding of working with trauma survivors is a breath of fresh air. She thoroughly understands the many ways that traumatic experiences can present within the body, mind and emotions and the impact that these experiences have upon individuals lives.

Her training and mentoring offers a detailed and unique understanding to working with and living with our natural trauma responses.

She offers guidance, support and valuable insight for those who are looking to offer a trauma-informed therapeutic approach to their work and personal life.
